The Emergence of the Lyric Tenor: From Baroque to Verismo.

  • Christ Church 46 Reading Road Henley-on-Thames, England, RG9 1AG United Kingdom (map)

Robert Forrest presents a programme tracing the evolution of the tenor voice, combining music with engaging insight. Featuring arias such as “Possente spirto” from L’Orfeo, “Where’er you walk” from Semele, “Il mio tesoro” from Don Giovanni, and “Recondita armonia” from Tosca, the programme spans Baroque refinement to verismo passion, exploring love, grief, and heroism. This summer, he performs Rodolfo in La bohème at Waterperry Opera Festival.
