We opened the month in Fawley with a wonderful Iberian-themed recital from Stephen Whitford and Maria Levandovskaya, tracing Ravel's fascination with Spain and Portugal. We'd been treated to this programme once before, at St. Pancras Clocktower back in April, and it was a joy to hear Stephen and Maria bring it to life once again. The intimate setting suited the music beautifully, and we think our audience went home thoroughly inspired.

June continued with a lovely OperaBites recital from soprano Ceferina Penny in Hampstead. Her programme, "Falling for an Illusion", wove together highlights from La Bohème, The Rake's Progress and Manon alongside art song by Debussy, Duparc, Weill and Wolf. Ceferina's voice is a truly bewitching thing, and she cast her spell over the audience once again.
The grand finale of the month was a stunning gala concert — A Midsummer Night at the Opera — held in the beautiful Soane Stable Yard at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Four wonderful singers joined us: Eyra Norman, Klara Solen, Simon Mascarenhas Carter and Ross Cumming, accompanied by the ever-brilliant Jack Redman on piano. It was the perfect summer evening of opera, filled with favourites including Olympia's Aria from The Tales of Hoffmann, the Brindisi from La Traviata, and Bella figlia dell'amore from Rigoletto. Our warmest thanks to our wonderful performers, and to our audience for making it such a special night.
