At the turn of the 19th century, opera, it’s stars and heroes, dominated conversation among society’s elite. One of the greatest English architects, Sir John Soane, developed a close friendship with star soprano Nancy Storace, the English prodigy who inspired one of Mozart's greatest operatic characters. How did this chance meeting turn into a lifelong family connection? In this performance Lewis Gaston (Opera Conductor) and Shafali Jalota, soprano, Magnus Walker, tenor, and Thomas Ang on piano will explore this unexpected friendship in a narrated concert of two 45 minute Acts, either side of an interval.
