Storace and Soane: icons and influencers at the turn of the 19th century

At the turn of the 19th century, opera, it’s stars and heroes, dominated conversation among society’s elite. One of the greatest English architects, Sir John Soane, developed a close friendship with star soprano Nancy Storace, the English prodigy who inspired one of Mozart's greatest operatic characters. How did this chance meeting turn into a lifelong family connection? In this performance Lewis Gaston (Opera Conductor) and Shafali Jalota, soprano, Magnus Walker, tenor, and Thomas Ang on piano will explore this unexpected friendship in a narrated concert of two 45 minute Acts, either side of an interval.
