Biography

A native of Hong Kong, Jessie is a soprano based in London and she completed her Masters of Music at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and gained her Master in Opera at Conservatori Liceu, Barcelona. As an award winning artist, Jessie was awarded the 1st Prize, Gitanilla Prize and Leoncavallo Prize in 2016 Antonio Bertolini Competition. In the same year, she received the 3rd Prize in the Coop Music Award Grand Finale in Milan, Italy, as well as the 3rd Prize from 2016 Yokohama International Music Competition in Japan. In 2016, Jessie was a Britten-Pears Young Artist and an iSing! Suzhou Young Artist. She performed in concerts in Suzhou and Beijing with the festival in both Chinese and Western Repertoire. She was invited to perform in Chinese Embassy UK and some other cultural exchange events. She gave a Chinese Repertoire Workshop in Santiago, Chile in 2017. In Fall 2018, she returned to Chile and gave another singing workshop in Instituto de Música, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Operatic appearances include Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail with Patras Municipal and Regional Theatre (Greece), Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte with Porcupine Productions (UK), Lyric Opera Studio Weimar (Germany) and Conservatori Liceu, Anna Reich in Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor at Theatre Rudolstadt, title role in Alcina with New London Opera Players and Corilla in Viva la Mamma with Jerusalem Vocal Arts Festival. As an enthusiastic concert singer, she has given concerts and recitals in venue such as Teatro Dal Verme (Milan), Auditorium Gaber Pirelli (Milan), Southwark Cathedral (London) and Leoncavallo Museum (Brissago). Jessie also has a strong interest in contemporary opera. In August 2018 she played the role of Susie with Mosaic Production in Between Constellations by Ruth Chan and performed the Red Seed written by Sayan Kent. Recent engagements include Gloria (Vivaldi) with Asia Collegium Musicum in Japan in March 2019, Elvira in L’Italiana in Algeri and concert tour with Festival de Bardi (Netherlands) in June 2019, as well as L’Eternita in La Calisto with Longborough Festival Opera in July 2019.
